Indo-US Workshop on Mineral Processing and Chemical Metallurgy. Proceedings of a Workshop Held at Udaipur, India on December 14-18, 1981

Papers on mineral processing, pyrometallurgy, and hydrometallurgy are presented. They address such topics as fine particles processing, electro-flotation, pelletization, liberation, modelling of multistage leaching systems, aqueous chlorination of copper-nickel sulphide concentrates, metal preparation and purification, recovery of metal values, and gas-metal interaction during ingot casting. India's reserves of coal, iron ore, manganese ore, chromite, base metal sulphide, phosphate ore, and limestone are discussed. Research projects to be undertaken as collaborative Indian-American efforts are listed, including: (1) study of kinetics of mineral liberation with a view toward selective comminution; (2) fine grinding of Indian coals to produce high weight percent solids in coal water slurries; and (3) energy saving in comminution circuits. Preworkshop tours are summarized and workshop participants are listed.
