Computer Techniques and Meteorological Data Applied to Problems of Agriculture and Forestry: A Workshop

This workshop, in response to developments in information technology, was divided into three main areas; methods of obtaining weather data, methods of changing data into weather related information for agriculture and forestry, and methods of disseminating this information. The first area included automated weather stations; their use, design philosophy and maintenance. The second area was divided into three sessions; Crop, Livestock and Forest Production Systems. These sessions gave perspectives on current knowledge, computer simulations and areas for future research. The last area reviewed various types of information dissemination systems currently in use in Nebraska, Georgia, Kentucky, California and Florida.
