摘要

The book presents data on the role of wild animals and blood-sucking arthropods as vectors of brucellae under natural conditions in foci of brucellosis. The greater part of the monograph analyzes the course of experimental brucellosis infection in various species of wild animals, the mechanism of transmission of infection through the excretions of the vectors during their stages of development, and the possibility of transmission of infection in laboratory, wild, and farm animals. The different strains of brucellae isolated from the body of wild animals are also described. A fairly comprehensive bibliography of world literature on the problem of brucellosis is included. The book should prove useful to both medical and veterinary doctors. Biologists, zoologists, and parasitologists will likewise find it informative. (Copyright (c) 1987 Oxonian Press Pvt.
