Mineral Revenues: Coal Lease Readjustment Problems Remedied but Not All Revenue Is Collected

The report provides information on the Department of the Interior's progress in carrying out its responsibilities under Section 6 of the Federal Coal Leasing Amendments Act (FCLAA). FCLAA requires that Interior readjust federal coal leases at the end of their initial 20-year term and at the end of each 10-year period thereafter to reflect increased royalty rates and change other lease terms and conditions as provided for in the act.
