The recent developments in power electronics strongly increase the possibilities of using induction machines in variable speed drives. For the flux oriented control the induction machine is described in such a way that it is comparable with the separately excited direct current machine. Hence, the flux oriented control is a fast and accurate control method for the asynchronous machine. In the first place it has been investigated whether there is an efficient way to determine the state transition matrix. Secondly the design of a robust state observer has been investigated. Finally a coordinate transformer has been tested.
