Reemployment Services to Unemployed Workers Having Difficulty Becoming Reemployed

The purpose of the publication is to compile information about State programs that utilize the Unemployment Insurance (UI) System to provide reemployment services or benefits to unemployed workers having difficulty becoming reemployed. Projects submitted by the States have been divided into six categories based on the nature and scope of the project and the primary policy responses considered by State agencies for the unemployed workers' problem to date. These categories are: Additional UI benefits; Dislocated worker demonstration projects; Employer/Claimant incentives; State training and retraining programs; UI, Job Training and Partnership Act (JTPA), and Employment Services linkages; and Work search assistance. The publication also includes proposed state reemployment services or benefit programs for unemployed workers having difficulty becoming reemployed that were not enacted.
