摘要

The straight line into which the airfoil is transformed is the extended chord line of airfoil. Mapping is accomplished by operating directly with the airfoil coordinates. Superposition of solutions is used to obtain a rigorous counterpart of approximate methods of thin-airfoil theory. Numerical examples of application methods to solution of direct and inverse problems are given. Applications to more general types of regions, biplanes and cascades in particular, of airfoils are indicated.
