Aerated and Vibrated Chute Feeders for Particulate Materials: Quarterly Technical Report for the Period 3/1/87 to 5/31/87

Our study of the flow of particulate materials in inclined chutes under the influence of aeration and vibration has thus far led to a formulation of the equations of motion, boundary conditions and a constitutive theory that describes the system. In this report, we derive the boundary condition that suitably accounts for the energy production due to vibration of the base plate of the chute. The governing equations that describe the motion of particulates with aeration have been solved, and we compare these results with what was obtained earlier, for the unaerated chute. 7 refs.
