Quasi-real Compton scattering, previously used in e(sup +) e(sup -) and e p collisions for luminosity measurements and detector calibration at PEP and HERA is discussed for the energy range available at the construenda (phi) -factory DA(Phi)NE. They show that the very high rate expected at DA(Phi)NE makes this process particularly convenient for a continuous calibration of the KLOE detector over the full angular range, directly from the data.
