Field-store standards conversion: the development of variable-delay timing correctors

The need for the development of new timing correctors for the BBC C06/508 field-store converter/synchroniser is discussed and outline descriptions of each stage of the timing corrector are given. The corrector consists essentially of a variable delay which is automatically adjusted at the beginning of each television line to reduce perturbations of up to ±16 us in the timing of the input signal to a target accuracy of ±1 ns for the out¬put signal.
