The results are presented of theoretical and experimental studies of the strength, elastic, acoustics, thermal, and electromagnetic properties of rocks as a function of temperature. A detailed description of methods for investigating the physical properties of rocks at high temperatures and examples of the use of the dependence of physical properties of rocks on temperature for solving mining problems are included. The book is intended for scientific workers, engineers and technicians engaged in the mining and processing of minerals and may also be useful to college students concerned with problems in the geology, mineralogy, chemistry and physics of rocks, and the methods and equipment employed in extracting and processing minerals.
