Generation and Measurement of Very Short Shock Waves in Solids . Generation et Mesure Dondes de Choc Tres Breves Dans les Solides

摘要

The dynamic response of porous and composite materials subjected to low intensity plane shock was investigated. Different shock generators are described as well as ways to measure shocks at impact of either flexible explosive mechanically projected thin aluminum and polyethylene foil or light gas gun projectiles. Pressure and velocity of projectiles at impact were measured using piezoelectric transducers to establish the dynamic characteristics of the samples.
