摘要

The purpose of this effort was to develop a tool for the analysis of high speed tapered roller bearings. The tool developed is SKF Computer Program AE71Y001 which has the following capabilities.n1) Bearing loads may be applied and bearing deflections determined in three distinct linear directions and two angular directions.n2) Hydrodynamic cage and roller drag friction and elastohydrodynamic concentrated contact (EHD) friction forces are considered.n3) Cage web/roller loading is determined.n4) Bearing thermal performance is determined on the basis of heat generation, dissipation rates and temperature mapping.n5) Bearing geometry changes which occur from cold to operating conditions are determined as affected by thermal gradients, shaft and housing fits, ring centrifugal growth, and rolling element - raceway normal loads.
