Design, Fabrication, Testing and Delivery of a Prototype Self-Locking Actuator

The design, fabrication, and testing of a prototype self-locking actuator capable of producing an axial force of 44.5 kN are reported. The actuator passed the initial proof test successfully, however, when the no-load rate test was attempted, the actuator would not extend from the fully contracted position. (Author)
