The integral moment method developed by Lees and Reeves1,2 and later extended by Grange, Kleinberg and Lees3,4,5 has been applied to solve the laminar near wake flow field of a circular cylinder cooled to 0.2 times the free stream stagnation temperature at M=6.0 and Reynolds number of 9000, 48000 and 84000 based on diameter and free stream conditions. Comparison with the experimental results of Ramaswamy at the lowest Reynolds number indicate that the base pressure and the temperature in the recalculating region are reasonably well predicted by the method, but there is some discrepancy in the detailed pressure and temperature recovery history in the near wake which could probably be eliminated with further refinement of the method.
