DIRECT SIMULATION CALCULATIONS OF THE RAREFIED FLOW PAST A FORWARD-FACING STEP

摘要

The hypersonic rarefied transition flow past a two-dimensional flat-plate forward-facing-step body combination has been calculated using the Direct Simulation Monte-Carlo method. The body surface and flow field properties obtained from the calculations lead to a qualitative picture of the effect of the step on the developing flat plate merged layer flow.
