摘要

The purpose of this contract was the investigation of two critical character¬istics of CCD and CID image sensors, namely the aperture response of individual elements, and the element-to-element non-uniformities of both response and dark current. Lack of detailed information on these properties has previously prevented the performance limits of proposed high accuracy star sensors from being accurately assessed. The contract has been performed as a rider to contract 2454/75 'Development study for a high accuracy star sensor'.nFour devices have been tested, namely GEC MA328, Fairchild CCD211, General Electric CID in TN 2000 camera, and RCA SID 51232 in TC 1155 camera. In addition, aperture response tests only are reported for an experimental thinned version of the GEC MA328, illuminated on the back face.
