On the General and Specific National and International Need for Meteorological Data from the Greenland Area

Arguments based on the needs of aviation, industry, and industrial fishing for better meteorological data are presented in support of the establishment of unmanned geophysical observatories. Climatological factors, such as katabatic wind, surface wind, pressure gradient, and temperature, important in the analysis and forecasting of weather conditions are discussed. Results obtained from those stations already in place are cited as evidence of the reliability of these installations.
