Dispersion curves are presented for a range of parameters and the behavior of individual branches is explained. A nondimensional equation which determines the distribution of vibrational energy between the shell wall and the contained fluid was derived and its variation with frequency and material parameters was studied. The behavior of free waves is found to depend strongly on the thickness of the shell wall, and on the ratio of density of shell material to the density of the contained fluid. Coincidence behavior for propagating and evanescent waves is identified and explained.
