Survey of Solution Techniques for Nonlinear Finite Element Equations

摘要

The continuation method or incremental method for the solution of the equilibrium equations that describe the deformation response of structure under variable loading is introduced. Numerical concepts related to the solution of nonlinear equations in many variables are summarized. Application of the continuation method for the analysis of structural stability problems is discussed. Trends in improved computational efficiency are reviewed.
