Quasi Nonstretching Hypervelocity Jets

摘要

The possibility to obtain high velocity shaped charge jets characterized by a very low velocity gradient is studied using one-dimensional calculations and experimental flash X-ray observations. Results show that it is possible to form high velocity jets with 0.5 km/sec velocity difference between tip and rear of the jet with a kinetic energy equivalent to that of classical stretching jets. Comparison of jets is used to discuss analytical models employed to evaluate velocities, break-up, and penetration of shaped charge jets.
