A computer program to test the effect of an auxiliary surface by simulating the direct sideforce modes of motion, in order to estimate the maximum mode performance benefits, was developed. The program is written as a design tool, which incorporates data for the flight envelope from Mach 0.3 to 0.8 and from sea level to 36,000 ft, for the basic aircraft, with provision to add in derivatives due to the auxiliary surface. The program can be used to re-evaluate the behavior of the aircraft with auxiliary surface as the aerodynamics, geometry of the surface, position of the surface on the airframe, and hence derivatives of the surface are revised.
