Further Development of a Mathematical Model for the Specification of Immersion Clothing Insulation

Changes to the FORTRAN code and method of use of the Wissler model of thermoregulation are discussed. Inclusions make possible the simulation of counter-current heat conservation processes, water leakage into dry suits, and alternative ways of distributing the subcutaneous fat thickness dependent on methods of measurement and calculation of the mean weighted thickness of fat. The way in which the model should be used to obtain reproducible and accurate simulations is discussed in relation to the production of survival curves used for the specification of immersion protection clothing assemblies.
