Analysis of Wear Metals in Engine Oils Using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric Method

摘要

The determination of wear metals in certain used automobile engine oil and aircraft engine oil by the atomic absorption spectrophotometric method is described. Preparation of synthetic metal naphthanates for calibration is described.The procedures developed are found to have the required sensitivity for analyzing wear metals at ppm and sub-ppm concentrations.
