摘要

A synthesis method is applied to the design of an electron gun for a 94 GHz gyrotron. Using this method, an electrode shape is found compatible with the laminar flow, which minimizes the action of the space charge on electron velocity dispersion. A systematic procedure is presented to find the parameters of the synthesis method which, in turn, are closely related to the characteristics of the optoelectronic system. Finally, an electron gun is designed in which the velocity dispersion found is of the order of 1.5 percent and in which the beam power is 2.3 MW.
