Rota's Theory of Polynominals of Binomial Type

Solution methods for convolution equations are discussed, and it is shown that operators can be used with polynomials. This yields simpler proofs than using power series. A special class of sequences of convolution type is described in terms of operators. Sheffer sets are considered.
