A general introduction to distributed transaction processing systems is given.OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) Transaction Processing (OSI TP) standard and IBM LU (Logical Units) 6.2 are described, and their properties are compared with each other. An implementation plan for OSI TP using the object oriented tools OTSO and CLASN is outlined.
