Problems Associated With The Design And Development of The Lithium Cooled Reactor For The 1 Mve Space Power plant

In general, many of the problems associated with a compact, high temperaturs, lithium cooled reactor have been solved under ANP Research and Development Program an CANKL. Other problems in this area are being investigated under the current AEC contract at CANKL which is directed toward the design, construction and operation of a compact 10 Mv reactor with a 2000F lithium coolant temperature and a one year life. The major reactor problem areas not covered under the current AEC at CANKL are those associated with operation in the environment of space.
