NORMAL ACCELERATIONS MEASURED IN THE COCKPIT AND AT THE C.G. OF A JET TRANSPORT AEROPLANE DURING FLIGHT THROUGH ROUGH AIR

Normal accelerations covering frequency range between 0 and 10 cps have been measured in the cockpit and at the C.&, of the Comet 3B aircraft during flight at 230 knots through rough air at an altitude of 2000 ft. The rms acceleration in the cockpit was found to be about 157° less than that at the C.G. The reasons for this are investigated.
