SEARCH FOR COMETS DURING 22 SEPTEMBER 1968 SOLAR ECLIPSE

An observation site very close to the eclipse was selected and prepared by representatives of the Soviet Academy of Sciences near the small hamlet of Yurgamysh on the trans-Siberian railway in southwestern Siberia. From this site the Adelphi team observed and recorded the total solar eclipse of 22 September 1968.nReduction and analysis of the photographic plates were completed by June 1969. The data from the narrow-band scanning photo meter are very disappointing because of unsatisfactory recording techniques and does not contribute meaningful information for our experiment.
