摘要

The quantum statistical concepts of coherence and chaos used to describe fluctuations in multiparticle production processes are exhibited in a generalized version of the Interacting Gluon Model (IGM). The two components in the multiplicity distributions found previously are derived in this approach as originating from the two components of the energy flow existing in the IGM: the one provided by the interacting gluons and the other containing the initial valence quarks of the projectiles. The first Monte Carlo event generator with coherence and chaos built in is then presented and successfully used to describe the pp and p p-bar data.
