Electrolysis of long and thin Pd (and PdY alloy) wires, in dilute solutions of LiOD-D(sub 2)O and LiOH-H(sub 2)O at large operating voltages, were made. An innovative kind of geometrical set-up to improve the efficiency of electromigration effect in proton conductors was developed: the usual 'single, ended' geometry at the most cathodic point of the wire changed to the 'central wire' geometry. The detected excess heat seems to be related to: (H/D) isotopic effect, lattice characteristics, geometrical set-up, dynamic variation of concentration inside Pd wire, anode cathode and inter-cathodic voltages.
