SMALL-SIZED ORGANIC MODERATED REACTORS (10-40 MWE)

摘要

The demonstration of reasonably economic nuclear power from an organic moderated reactor in the size range of from 10 to 40 Mwe holds considerable promise. This report summarizes the technology and economics of the organic moderated reactor in this size range utilizing present day technology.nThe technological foundation for the organic moderated reactor is established in terms of a review of the experience derived from the Organic Moderated Reactor Experiment both in design and operation;a review of the design and development of the Piqua OMR with particular emphasis being given to the development of systems and components;a review of the research and development associated with the determination of fundamental properties of organic coolants;and a review of the status of the fuel technology related to organic moderated reactors.
