摘要

Two cases of continuum X-radiation, (1) from the volume of a plasma, and (2) from a target placed in a plasma, are considered. The ratio by which the X-ray intensity is reduced on passing through an absorbing foil is a quantity which is readily measured. The organisation of a computer calculation to obtain this ratio is discussed. Since the X-ray intensity was in practice measured by a scintillator and photomultiplier, the corrections due to the variation of scintillator efficiency with X-ray energy, which must be incor¬porated in the calculation, are discussed.
