FIASH-5: A FORTRAN IV PROGRAM FOR TRANSIENT SIMULATION OF A REACTOR PLANT WITH A DETAILED CORE

The FLASH-5 computer program, an extension of the previously published FLASH programs, simulates severe transients in a pressurized water reactor in which the variation of pressure is significant in both space and time. FLASH-5 allows up to 100 pressure determining nodes within the reactor core, which can be used to represent up to 20 axially sectionalized core flow paths. The program is useful in evaluating loss of-coolant accidents with emergency core cooling, power excursions with pressure generation and transmission, and parallel channel dynamics problems in which pressure variation is important.
