摘要

In view of the fact that radiation damage in metals is caused by the effect of high-energy neutrons, knowledge of the fast neutron spectrum and the absolute values of fluxes on the reactor shell and its structure is of great importance for its safe and reliable operation.nAs is known, the first water-moderated water-cooled vessel reactors were started up and operated without internal reactor monitoring or investigation of the neutron field.nEven the first experimental data on neutron fields and internal reactor monitoring of the neutron distribution at sev¬eral operating atomic electric power stations permitted a sub¬stantial increase of their power. This indicated great reserves in the values of the allowable power of the stations which had not been completely revealed as a result of calculations.
