This Decree lays down special regulations concerning the use of radioactive luminous paints for timepieces and prescribes activity limits for each timepiece. The Decree furthermore prohibits the manufacture in the Netherlands of timepieces which do not comply with these regulations and provides that such articles manufactured abroad may not be distributed in the Netherlands unless the supplier provides a statement certifying that they comply with the OECD Radiation Protection Standards for Radioluminous Timepieces.
