摘要

Hardness tests of isothermally annealed irradiated Zircaloy fuel-rod cladding show that the hardness decreases gradually as the annealing temperature is increased from 850 to 1000 and 1150 F. No change occurs below 850 F and no further decrease occurs when the temperature is increased to 1300 F. The annealed hardness appeared to be dependent only on the temperature of annealing and not on the times of annealing, which ranged from 1/4 to 60 min at a given temperature.nTensile tests were conducted at 700 F on specimens of the same irradiated Zircaloy cladding. Tests of annealed specimens are planned.
