Neutron Investiation of Magnons in Cu sub 2 MnAl Heusler Alloy

摘要

Inelastic magnon scattering of neutrons on a single crystal of the Heusler Cu sub 2 MnAl alloy was investigated. The dispersion relations for three principal symmetry directions up to the energy of about 50 MeV were establishe. The exchange parameter may be qualitatively well explained by the RKKY or Caroli-Blandin type models although it is possible that the agreement is accidental and another mechanism is reponsible for the n.n. and n.n.n. interactions.
