A case-specific private and public sector methodology is presented for the Steam Rankine Heat Recovery System, The objectives of the case study were:1) to determine if the Steam Rankine Heat Recovery System would be a successful venture for producers, 2) to determine if introduction of this technology is for the public good, 3) to determine whether the government should provide incentives to further encourage its commercialization. We concluded that government incentives, particularly instant tax credits and accelerated depreciation schedules, can significantly increase the rate of market penetration, and that government stimulation would be economically beneficial to the public sector.
