GUIDEBOOK ON INTEGRATED COMMUNITY ENERGY SYSTEMS: INDIRECT ECONOMIC AND ENERGY IMPACTS

This case study follows the methodological sequence of the Guidebook and demonstrates its procedures for estimating employ¬ment, fiscal effects on the community, and energy impacts resulting from a comparison of an integrated community energy system (ICES) with conventional energy supply systems.nAn ICES is being considered for a community located in a small New England city. The city is part of a metropolitan area and has grown nearly to the limits of its available land area. It currently has a population of 24,000 people on approximately 12 square miles. Most of the city is residential, with a small downtown area and some newer commercial development on the outskirts.
