An economic analysis of the hybrid sulfuric acid cycle shows that a specific thermochemical process for hydrogen production from water can compete successfully with conventional and advanced electrolytic processes. A generalization to the contrary,based on computer-generated thermochemical cycles,is misleading and erroneous. (ERA citation 04:012707)
