Residential Sector Energy Forecasts, National Level for 1978-Electricity, Natural Gas, Number Two Fuel Oil and Propane

Methods and results of estimating the average 1978 price of fuels used in the residential sector are given. Average (as opposed to marginal) prices were requested and are given for electricity, natural gas, No. 2 fuel oil, and propane. The projected 1978 average fuel prices resulting from the analysis are: electricity, 4 cents/kWh; natural gas, 27.5 cents/therm; No. 2 fuel oil, 49.2 cents/gallon; and propane, 44.9 cents/gallon.
