Deformation Hardening of Type 304 Stainless Steel at Elevated Temperature

摘要

Samples of Type 304 SS were hardened by various deformation paths. The mechanical behavior of these predeformed samples was characterized by their behavior in tensile tests. Dislocation structure was examined by TEM. Behavior during the prior deformation hardening path was analyzed for indications that the state of the material was changing. Results support the conclusion that more than one state parameter is required to characterize the material. (ERA citation 04:056892)
