Projections of Cost, Duration, and On-Site Manual Labor Requirements for Constructing Electric Generating Plants, 1979-83

The objective of this study is to provide a consistent set of base-line estimates of future capital costs and labor require¬ments for power plant construction which can be used by the government, utilities, constructors, labor organizations, industry vendors, and the general public for policymaking and planning purposes. Separate projections for nuclear, hydroelectric, and fossil-fueled electric generating facilities are included. Within each category, estimates of on-site labor requirements are provided for 14 separate craft classifications.
