Objectives are to study the dynamic interfacial effects on residual oil recovery and the dynamics of oil ganglion populations. A series of coalescence tests on low concentration surfactant systems has been completed. A stability analysis for a stationary film under pure fluid conditions was completed. Visualization experiments were used to determine the velocity of an oil ganglion. A numerical method was developed to study the dynamics of interacting oil ganglia. 20 figures.
