Use of Demonstration Fast Reactor Experience in Assessing the Radiation Safety of Fast Power Reactors in the Design Stage

The results are presented of experimental studies on the behavior of fission products and radioactive corrosion products in the primary circuit of the BN-350 reactor during operation at power levels of up to 650 MW with defective fuel elements in the core. Data are also given on radiation conditions in the reactor building, dose burden to personnel and activity loss from the primary circuit. The experimental data thus obtained are compared with design data. (ERA citation 05:024061)
