Saudi Arabia a Technically Developing Country and the Question of Introducing Nuclear Power During 1980-2000

In this investigation, the possibility of introducing nuclear power during 1980-2000 to the oil exporting country Saudi Arabia is examined in view of generating the required electricity and desalted water during this period by using the nuclear fuels uranium and thorium. The investigation is carried out in a general framework by means of coupling the prevailing conditions in the country with the special requirements of the nuclear power industry in areas as the grid size, fuel cycle material demand and cost, and siting conditions.
