New Ways of Heating and Cooling Buildings with Electricity

Case studies of two electric utility service areas indicate that heating with electricity is cost-competitive with oil and natural gas heating, providing that the electric utility meets its intermediate and base loads with coal and/or nuclear generating plants. (ERA citation 08:020897)
