Risk Methodology for Geologic Disposal of Radioactive Waste: Sensitivity Analysis of the Environmental Transport Model (Volume 2)

Results are presented from a sensitivity analysis study of a model developed to represent the surface movement of radionuclides. The study has two purposes: (1) to develop a capability to perform sensitivity analyses of the model and (2) to acquire insight with respect to the variables which influence predictions made by the model. Two variations of a hypothetical river receiving a radionuclide discharge are defined. This work constitutes part of a project at Sandia National Laboratories funded by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to develop a methodology to assess the risk associated with geologic disposal of radioactive waste.
